myPETZnet™ = my BACK UP plan!Having a backup plan is paramount when using a pet sitter, dog walker or horse sitter. Do not let your pets suffer for our human mistakes. Ensure your pets care with PETZcheckIN

  • Your list of friends and family who can help out if needed= myPETZnet™.
  • If the pet sitter does not arrive within the time slot you indicated, we will attempt to contact the pet sitter.
  • If your pet sitter does not respond, or CANNOT take responsibility, we will contact the first member of myPETZnet™.
  • We will sequentially contact members of myPETZnet™ until someone accepts responsibility, ensuring pet safety!
  • If NO ONE responds, you, the pet owner will be notified so that you can make alternate arrangements.

myPETZnet™

myPETZnet™ is your group of family, friends or neighbors who agree to be on stand-by in case your pet sitter does not arrive.  They are your pet's safety net. If the checkIN time pet sitting requires a timely response. Keep your pet safe and secure each time you use a pet stter, dog walker or other pet care by using PETZcheckINlapses and your pet sitter does not arrive, or indicates she/he cannot care for your pets, your PETZnet™ members will be called in the order listed, until someone takes responsibility for your pet(s).

Remember, your pet sitter is always called first in case they are running late. If they can take responsibility and indicate such, they checkIN as expected, and all is well.  You will receive e-mail notification that the pet sitter checked in late AND the checkIN time will be logged on your schedule.

BUT if something is wrong and your pet sitter cannot take responsibility, we will escalate to members of myPETZnet™, contacting them via their preferred contact method (phone, or email). Our primary responsibility is making sure your pets are safe and secure!

myPETZnet™ members must indicate they are willing and able to take care of your animals (we trust your PETZnet™ members know how to get into your home, if necessary).  They will know what to do because you have completed the ePETZid™, including feeding instructions. This is another layer of pet safety and pet security.

We will send you an e-mail letting you know who is taking care of your animals AND it will be logged on your schedule. If no one responds to help, we notify you.

For your pet's safety, we suggest you have at least one myPETZnet™ member as your backup.  Don’t worry, we’ll send an e-mail to confirm you entered their contact information correctly, and to help them understand PETZcheckIN® and myPETZnet™.  The more you list, the less chance there is of your pet's security and safety being compromised and being left unattended.

Here's an exampleYou want your dogs fed at 5 pm- this is your checkIN time. cats and dogs have greater security when left in the care of pet sitters. Cat sitting can help your animals to be healthy. You set your checkIN window to 60 minutes.  This means your pet sitter can checkIN anytime between 4 pm and 6 pm.  If they try to checkIN early (before 4 pm), they will be told they need to wait and checkIN later. If they do not checkIN by 6 pm, we will call them.  If they do not respond, or cannot come feed, we will ESCALATE to myPETZnet™ members.  You will be notified via e-mail if someone can take responsibility.

If NO ONE can take responsibility for your pets, we will contact you via your preferred method(s) to make sure you are aware of the problem.  We become your pet's voice to ensure their safety!

notes:
Completing your ePETZid™ will make it easy for your PETZnet™ members. The ePETZid™ page contains a printable pet sitter instruction form.

It is best to let myPETZnet™ members know when you are scheduling events.
Your schedule will have the history of arrivals or escalations posted.  If you chose to require checkOUT, this also will be posted.

TEAR (Technical Emergency Animal Rescue) suggests you have one myPETZnet™ member who does not live in your area for regional disasters such as floods or tornadoes.
