HOW DO I TALK TO MY PET SITTER? Or making a comfortable transition to PETZcheckIN®...

  • Start by letting the pet sitter know you value their hard, careful work on behalf of your pets. talking to your pet sitter, security ,safety
  • Help them to understand that you worry when you can’t care for your pets.  All pet lovers worry when they are not there to care for them- just like parents.
  • Let them know that you are not “spying” on them.  You understand that occasionally issues arise in life that might take precedence.
  • Having a backup system is a safety measure for all of you.  For your pet sitter, it helps them to be able to juggle all that life tosses up and eases the communication burden with you.
  • For you, it gives peace of mind without requiring constant oversight.  The sitter can now give you and your pets the gift of security.
  • Your pets will know you are gone, but they know they are safe in their familiar, comfortable, secure environment- their home, they will be happy.

How did I talk to my pet sitter?

My pet sitter is Dawn, when we first talked about this site, she said “well you won’t use it, will you?”  And I said I would, she was a little shocked and perhaps a bit miffed, then asked “why?”  I explained I had a long term sitter who became inconsistent, and only because my parents were also checking, were my horses fed and let out of their stalls.  I had trusted my previous pet sitter, but some circumstances arose and she couldn’t feed until much too late in the day.
Cats benefit from home
pet care. Pet sitting is beneficial to help pets feel secure.
We’ve all had issues when we cannot keep a commitment, unfortunately, animals become the victim and the pet owner has no way to find out- until PETZcheckIN®. I use this service because I worry (a lot) about my animals when I’m away, even when I know and trust the pet sitter (I even use the reminder call for my parents).   It gives me the extra level of security, knowing there is a layer of back-up for those moments when circumstances interfere with plans. I know my pets will be safe and their security is covered with PETZcheckIN®!

Pet Parents ...Tips

If you have a pet sitter you use and like:
  • Compliment their work and reliability.
  • Tell them you found a web service which sends reminder calls so you, the pet parent can eliminate the worry about telling the pet sitter.
  • Allows the pet sitter to see their individual pet sitting schedule.
  • Has a great feature called ePETZid™ which has all the important information in one place, it can never get lost or misplaced! It's a great pet safety measure!
  • Accidents and sickness happen - no need to worry, a back-up plan is already in place, myPETZnet™.
  • Ask them to look at the web site to see all the features available.
  • Let them know that a history is kept on the calendar so there will never be a question when it comes to billing- you both will know when they were there.
